The Specna Arms MG42 RETRO AEG (X-ASR/Tracer) is a historically inspired airsoft replica of the legendary German MG42 machine gun, one of the most recognizable and feared weapons of World War II. As part of the Specna Arms RETRO Series, this replica is designed for historical enthusiasts, WWII reenactors, MilSim players and those looking for a unique support weapon.
The original MG42, famously nicknamed the “Hitler’s Saw” by Allied forces, was known for its extremely high rate of fire of around 1,200 rounds per minute. Its simple design, efficient production and exceptional firepower made it one of the most influential machine guns in military history.
This airsoft version is designed as a true support weapon replica. The user’s role is to find a strong firing position and provide sustained fire support for the team. Due to its size and weight, it is not intended for CQB, but it performs exceptionally well in open terrain, MilSim events and tactical scenarios.
The replica is constructed from a combination of aluminium, steel, polymer and wood. The muzzle device, outer barrel, barrel shroud, bolt cover and receiver are made from aluminium. Steel is used for important components including the magazine, magazine catch, screws, pins, dummy charging handle and bipod, providing additional durability and realism.
The included tracer unit illuminates fluorescent BBs and simulates muzzle flash effects, creating an impressive visual experience, especially during night games. The tracer can be charged using the included USB-C cable.
Internally, the MG42 features the reliable GATE X-ASR MOSFET system. This electronics module protects internal components, improves trigger response and extends the lifespan of both the battery and electrical parts. Built-in LED diagnostics allow basic faults to be identified easily.
The Specna Arms MG42 RETRO AEG is an excellent choice for players searching for a powerful historical support replica with modern AEG technology and a unique battlefield presence.
