A chronograph (chrono) is a device used to measure the speed (FPS – feet per second) and energy (Joule) of an airsoft gun. This is important to check if your weapon stays within the allowed limits at airsoft fields.
How does a chronograph work?
You shoot a BB through the sensors of the chronograph.
The device measures the BB’s speed in FPS (Feet Per Second).
If you enter the BB weight, the chrono also calculates the Joule value (impact force).
You compare the measurements with the allowed limits of the field or event.

Why is a chronograph important?
Safety – Prevents guns from being too powerful and causing injuries.
Compliance with field rules – Most airsoft venues have FPS and Joule limits.
Testing tuning and upgrades – Check if upgrades like a new spring or gas type make your gun more powerful.
Measuring shot consistency – Provides insight into the stability of your airsoft replica.
