A magnifier is typically mounted behind a red dot sight and works by enlarging the image seen through the sight. When needed, the magnifier can be flipped into place using a hinge mount or quick-detach mechanism to activate magnification. When no magnification is needed, you can simply flip it back out of the way.
For close-quarters: Use your red dot sight on its own for a wide field of view and fast target acquisition.
